CHANEL Concept Car Update

A while back I did a post about CHANEL transportation and found a concept car designed by Jinyoung Jo, Well I found more photos of the CHANEL fashion concept car... along with a commercial.

I still don't like it.

Polite Umbrella

It must be the gloomy weather here in Los Angeles that has got me thinking about buying a new umbrella. I must say someone has answered my prayers with the Polite Umbrella! I am seriously super paranoid about getting poked in the eye by an umbrella as I am sure many other people are... but now I can be sure to not poke other peoples eyes out as well as fully shielding my face from other possible dangerous umbrellas being carried by careless people.

Now if only CHANEL would jump on this idea and brand the shit out of it, everyone will want one then.

Velvet Leaf

Laura is the "Velvet" bringing an edgy and classic look to the line while Becky is the "Leaf" with the vintage feel.

Back in 2006 the sisters came together to create a certified organic clothing line. Since then they have been creating clothing that they say interprets sixties bent clothing with a hand-crafted sophisticated feel.

You can shop Velvet Leaf on their website Velvet Leaf and at Revolve Clothing

Seasons Past: Spring/Summer '08 and Fall/Winter '08

Love this desert collection,
I would wear all of it.. then jump around in the sand dunes.

The Emperor Knows Clothes

Après moi, le déluge.

Last week I had the (guilty) pleasure of seeing Valentino:  The Last Emperor.  The film was a surprisingly candid look into the divinely glamourous life of Signore Valentino Garavani and his lifetime partner in business and life, Giancarlo Giammetti.  Elegant, touching, humorous, with a touch of drama, the film contained all the elements one would expect in the telling of any life story.   A must see for every fashion enthusiast, you will leave feeling inspired after a peek into the life of one of the world's greatest fashion inamorata.

Reinventing the Wheel: Alternative Makes Basics Fresh Again

Basics are a crucial part of every wardrobe.  We all have that one amazing t-shirt that fits just right or that one perfect tank that works with everything you put it under.  You know your go-to shirt to throw on to go get a cup of coffee, or that looks great styled under a sport coat for a night out. Below are a few of my current basic essentials from Alternative Apparel that are getting me through the steamy days and steamier nights in Los Angeles.

The first piece pictured is the Gym Rat Eco-Fleece Raglan.  I love this shirt and have been living in it as of late. It's a killer staple because it can be worn on its own, or paired with a short sleeved button up for a preppy yet casual warm weather look.  Personally, I like to cuff up the sleeves and wear it with one of the Burnout shirts also pictured.  Pair with some tailored shorts and high-top Vans to complete the look.  Don't forget the vintage shades.

Also pictured is The Perfect Crew.  You know what?  The name delivers.  The pima cotton is super soft and hangs like an expensive T, but doesn't break the bank at $35.  I really dig the black, it looks great under a blazer or on it's own.

The line is extensive, but these are just a few of the pieces I have had the joy of obsessing over lately.  Check out the rest at http://www.alternativeapparel.com/

This is a photo of me in the studio as I write this, wearing the new Beachwood Heather Burnout Cut-Neck Ring.  A truly modern twist on a classic style.  Simple and standard, yet cutting-edge. Just what we live for at White and Black.
